Freedomnomics: Why the Free Market Works and Other Half-Baked Theories Don’t

In a response to “Freakonomics”, John R. Lott Jr. provides worthy counter arguments in his book “Freedomnomics”. Not only are counter-arguments compelling, but they are well supported with numerous studies.
Some of the assertions made in “Freakonomics” are not only wrong, but they are perfectly wrong according to Lott. For example, the claim that abortions improves crime rate is not only incorrect, but actually the reverse is true. Lott provides ample evidence and studies that show that abortions do not lead to improved crime rates but lead to more family break downs (i.e. more single parent households) which leads to more crime.
More than just a response to “Freakonomics”, this is a great book that explains why the free market works and socialism doesn’t.
